Product demonstration at Singapore Power

On 18 July 2016, Cellpack Far East and ITO-SIN Trading conducted a product demonstration on Contrax CAMSV straight- through joint at the Singapore Power Training Institute (SPTI).

As part of the launch of the new product – the Contrax straight-through joint CAMSV – the power utility Singapore Power offered the opportunity to demonstrate the joint in its training center. The energy utility was looking for an easy-to-install and functionally reliable product to enhance their present systems.

During the demonstration of CAMSV3 24 kV 95-300 with EG resin, the participants could convince themselves of the advantages of this recent generation of Cellpack’s cold applied polymeric-insulated medium voltage joints. In accordance with Cellpack's proven Contrax technology, a single-piece, slip-on insulating body integrates all major components. The special shape of the joint-body implements the geometrical control principle, which regulates the electrical field. The inner conductive layer forms a Faraday cage in the connector area and makes the use of further components unnecessary.

The supplied mechanical connector was developed specifically for this joint. With a typical conductor range of 95-300 mmsq, copper or aluminum, in one kit for an application up to 24 kV, there is no longer need for the potentially time consuming selection of connectors and tools.
