Sunny Prospects: Photovoltaic system for Radeberg

A photovoltaic system was put into operation at Cellpack’s production location Radeberg (Germany) in July 2016 – one step of the company’s energy and environment strategy.

The new system is intended to cover part of the energy needs of the subsidiary in an ecological way. 139 photovoltaic modules were mounted on the roof of the production plant covering a surface of more than 233 m2. The installed solar cells converting sunlight directly into electricity, the solar energy plant is designed to produce 40.000 kWh per year. This corresponds to the average annual electricity consumption of approximately 15 German households.

The photovoltaic system provides proof of Cellpack’s responsibility for the environment and commitment to sustainable action. Further activities in the context of the energy and environment strategy – e.g. the construction of an innovative block heating station - are planned.
